The Clay County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau (CCCVB) Committee has announced that grant applications are currently being accepted for the newly revised Clay County Tourism Grant.
With the support of the City of Spencer and Clay County, the CCCVB Tourism Grant will provide funding for those planning an event to be held in Clay County. These funds are accessible to any business, organization, governmental entity or individual, and eligible events include festivals, performances, sporting events/tournaments or exhibits that occur within Clay County and are designed to attract participants from both within and outside of Clay County. Ideally, the event will reinforce Clay County as a tourist destination, and will serve a large segment of the population or contribute to the quality of life for those who attend.
There is currently $40,000 that may be awarded annually. This will be done through two application rounds, with $20,000 available for each round of funding. Applications for the second round must be submitted no later than 4:00 PM on February 1st, 2018. Award notifications will be made in writing no later than March 1, 2018. A typical award will be between $500 and $5,000.
The Clay County Convention and Visitors Bureau is pleased and excited to continue this expanded grant program to both stimulate the development of new tourism events, and promote and support existing events.
The Grant application can be downloaded from the CCCVB’s website exploreclaycounty.org. The CCCVB is located in the Clay County Heritage Center at 7 Grand Avenue in Spencer. Any questions can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org or call (712)580-8687.
